What Compensation Can you Expect?

There are a number of schemes which vary with train operators. With Northern Rail Under Delay Repay 15, you are entitled to the following:

  • Delay of between 15 and 29 minutes: 25% of the cost of your single ticket or 12.5% of your return ticket
  • Delay of between 30 and 59 minutes: 50% of the cost of your single ticket or 25% of your return ticket, or one single ticket to anywhere on the Northern network
  • Delay of between 1 hour and 1 hour 59 minutes: A full refund of your single ticket or 50% of your return ticket, or one return ticket to anywhere on the Northern network
  • Delay of two hours or more: A full refund of your single or return ticket, or two return tickets anywhere on the Northern network
  • Cancellation: A full refund

If you did not proceed with your journey because of delays or cancellations: A full refund
